PlayZ is a progressive server where you’ll gain experience and earn perks to aid your survival in Chernarus. It’s designed for extended gameplay, don’t be a quitter, be a grinder.

Blizzards are lethal. At the first signs of intensifying wind and increasing snowfall, seek shelter under a roof immediately and ignite a fire to stay warm!

Infected are smart, they will hear you, see you, smell you and track you. Be very cautious and adapt your gameplay.

Spawn

Your journey in Chernarus begins the moment you spawn. In the cold, treacherous winter environment of PlayZ, staying warm and healthy is as crucial as finding food.

Craft Gloves with Rags

Immediately tear a piece of clothing to get rags. Craft improvised gloves to protect your hands from cuts and the biting cold.

Find a Stick

Search bushes to find wooden sticks. These are essential for crafting and creating a source of warmth.

Make a Fire

The cold in Chernarus is unforgiving. Using the stick you found, create a basic fireplace. Not only will this keep you warm, but it’s also essential for cooking. Some mechanics, like the hand drilling kit, are tied to the Syberia perk trees and will only become accessible as you level up later in the game.

Find or Craft a Knife

A knife is invaluable. If you can’t find one, search for stones on the ground. Two stones can be crafted into an improvised knife.

Combat Infected

The infected are a constant threat. Use stealth and strategy to eliminate them. While cuts and blood loss are often minor, it’s advisable to let your wound naturally clot rather than risk using a contaminated rag. Using an infected rag can lead to sepsis, which often results in near-certain death! The infected are a lethal threat. Avoid engaging them in unarmed combat. Instead, arm yourself with a wooden stick, an improvised knife, or a spear as a foundational means to defend against them. If you’re pursued by more than two infected, your best strategy is to flee. Beware, as they can break down doors, and if you seek refuge atop a car or container, they’ll pelt you with stones. Upon spawning, the infected will be your initial source of food. They can either have food in their inventory or provide bones that you can use for fishing.

Skin the Infected

Use your knife to skin the defeated infected. This provides resources and materials.

Gather Bones

Collect bones from the infected remains. These can be crafted into tools like knives and hooks.

Craft a Rope

Use your rags to craft a rope, essential for various crafting recipes.

Craft a Fishing Rod

Combine the rope with a long stick to craft a fishing rod.

Go Fishing

Find a water source and fish. This sustainable food source is crucial for long-term survival.

Cook and Eat

Cook the fish on your fire for maximum nutrition and warmth. Fish must be dropped on the ground and skinned using a knife, a change from the vanilla game mechanics due to the addition of fishing to the Syberia perk progression. As you progress in skill through gameplay, the outcome of skinning animals, infected, and survivors will improve. The more you play, the more food you’ll obtain, and the quality of the ingredients will be enhanced.

Loot for Medicine

As soon as you’re equipped with some basics, prioritize looting a medical center. In the harsh winter environment, medicines are vital to combat potential illnesses and injuries.

Congratulations, survivor! You’ve overcome the initial challenges in PlayZ, but your journey is far from over. Prepare to face wolves, bears, and stronger infected, while taking on quests, hunting for treasures, and discovering vehicles like snowmobiles. Team up with others and dream big—maybe one day, you’ll be driving a GAZ-71 tank!
