General Rules

Respect

All players must refrain from racism, bigotry and sexism… Discussions of real-world politics are not allowed, as many of us are here to escape everyday life. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to a warning or immediate removal from the community, depending on the severity.

Fair Play

We encourage all players to keep fair play in mind, aligning with the spirit of good sportsmanship and the “Spirit of the Game“.

Respect the Staff

We understand that DayZ can be an emotionally charged experience, but frustrations should not be taken out on the staff. Concerns will only be addressed if presented in a calm and respectful manner. The staff promises to be equally respectful in return.

Cheating

Cheating or using unauthorized programs is strictly prohibited. This includes:

  • Speed hacks
  • Aimbots
  • Wallhacks
  • Duping
  • Any other modifications that alter the game’s mechanics

No DDoS Attacks or Hacking: Engaging in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks or any form of hacking, including attempting to gain unauthorized access to the server or other players’ accounts, is strictly prohibited. Such actions disrupt the gameplay experience for others and will result in a permanent ban, reporting to community ban lists, and notification to our host provider.

Rules Violations

If you witness or suspect any rule violations, please report the incident to the server administrators through the Tickets function in Discord. Provide any necessary evidence or information to support your report, such as screenshots, videos, or relevant details, to assist in a thorough investigation. Prompt reporting helps ensure a fair and enjoyable gameplay experience for all players.

Compensation

We do not provide loot restoration or compensation for bugs or lost gear, as it’s difficult to manage fairly. No exceptions will be made.

Stream Sniping

Stream sniping is strictly prohibited. Streamers offer visibility and promote the server, and stream sniping will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Logs will be carefully checked in cases of suspicion. A confirmed stream snipe will result in a permanent ban, with no exceptions. Streamers can contact the staff, via a ticket, who can offer live monitoring if available.

Ban Information

If you have been temporarily banned from PlayZ, please read the following carefully:

  • Do not take your frustrations out on others.
  • Do not be disrespectful to staff members.
  • Do not jump to conclusions or plead steadfast innocence immediately.

We do not want to ban players; banning is a corrective measure to ensure our rules are understood and followed by everyone. Bans are also implemented to safeguard the community. We prioritize the well-being of a constructive community over the actions of a solitary individual who has erred…

Feedback and Reporting

We welcome feedback and reports on game violations.

  • Constructive Feedback: Use the 📮bug-and-suggestions thread in Discord.
  • Reporting a Player or Base: Use the 📪sensitive-report system in Discord.

If you discover any loopholes in raiding or gameplay, please contact an admin. Your feedback is invaluable to maintaining a balanced and fair gameplay environment.

Reporting Guidelines

  • Do not private message staff directly.
  • Use the Discord Ticket system to report a player or base.
  • Provide evidence: Video is best; screenshots can be acceptable.
  • If a complaint lacks evidence but appears credible, we may investigate through logs. This will require an exact date and an estimated time range no greater than 30 minutes.
  • Staff reserves the right to dismiss a report if there is no supporting documentation or evidence.
  • To determine your time difference to the server logs (Eastern Time), visit The Time Zone Converter.

Punishments and Appeals

All punishments are determined by the staff. We generally follow a two-strike system:

  1. First Offense: Warning
  2. Second Offense: More severe punishment, which could include a ban

However, a warning is not always the first step. Permanent bans can be issued if the infraction is serious enough. Players are allowed one appeal per infraction. Abuse of the appeal process can lead to temporary or permanent removal from the community and server.

Base Rules

Base Building

It is your duty to secure your base against intruders. Claiming a territory will prevent non-members from building in the area. Ensure all potential entry points—including doors, gates, windows, and structural gaps—are fortified. Lack of proper planning that results in you being raided is your responsibility. Don’t be upset if someone gets into your base because you built it poorly (e.g., make sure it has a roof).

Guidelines

  • Some places are off-limits for building:
    • Military bases or buildings (including military checkpoints and any location where a convoy or military train spawns)
    • Police stations
    • Hospitals
    • Camping cabins
    • Fire stations
    • Castles with a Bergfried
  • If you have an idea for a build that might violate this rule and are unsure, always check with a staff member via a ticket.
  • A base can have a maximum of 3 vehicles and 12 code locks attached to doors, gates, hangars, and hatches. Storage boxes and locker code locks do not count towards the 12 code lock limit.
  • It is forbidden to build in a way that prevents raiding. This includes replacing doors and gates with walls, or having loot that cannot be accessed by intruders or would require them to use ladders or climb over other players.
  • Bases must adhere to basic laws of physics. A balcony is permitted, but if present, foundations should be built to simulate structural support. Floating bases or floating walls will not be tolerated. Clipping doors and gates are also prohibited.
  • Balconies can only extend one large floor from the support and should have diagonal struts for support.

Raiding Rules

There are two types of raiding: Soft Raiding and Hard Raiding.

Soft Raiding

  • Allowed 24/7
  • Soft raiding involves attempting to break into a base or structure without using tools. This could be through poor base design or someone leaving a door open.
  • Risks: If you get into an enemy base and cannot get out, consider yourself trapped. You can either wait until the base owner gets on and negotiate a release, or commit suicide. Admins will not assist.

Allowed Actions During Soft Raiding:

  • Break into tents
  • Destroy tents
  • Destroy inventory and/or vehicles stored
  • Plant traps (e.g., bear traps, trip mines)
  • Pass objects through windows

Hard Raiding

  • Allowed only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Time TBD)
  • Hard raiding involves using tools and/or explosives to break into an enemy base or building during hard raiding hours.

Allowed Actions During Hard Raiding:

  • Destroy doors and garage doors
  • Destroy inventory and/or vehicles stored
  • Plant traps (e.g., bear traps, trip mines)

Prohibited Actions During Hard Raiding:

  • Destroying floors, roofs, and walls
  • Destroying flags and window shutters
